Gotta love a good Venn diagram. Brad Farris, in his ever wise and relevant enewsletter from Anchor Advisors, brings a nice one to attention. It’s by Bud Caddell and illustrates “how to be happy in business.”
I wish I could share this with the recent or soon-to-be college grads I meet who in their desperation to fill the realms “what I can be paid to do” and “what I do well” lose sight of “what I want to do.” It’s an easy trap to fall into and one I wrestled with for years in the PR business.
The hooray spot, or bullseye, is when we are doing what we want to do, do well and get paid for. That IS a hooray.
